Caitlin creates homes that are in harmony with her clients’ personality, while offering a retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern life. To achieve this, she first dives into their world to understand their unique vantage point, aesthetic, and wants and needs in a home. Next, she turns to thoughtful layering of textures, fabrics, and materials, always adding a whimsical touch by way of unexpected hues and artfully sourced antiques.

A Charleston, South Carolina, resident and native of New York, Caitlin Dirkes Simmonds has forever been drawn to bold pattern and design. She grew up in a home where playful color and quality textiles were embraced, and amid the Northeast’s treasure trove of antique shops, ingraining an appreciation for each that continues today. Caitlin earned a degree in arts management from the College of Charleston and studied at the New York School of Interior Design, and has hands-on experience with all sides of the interiors field. For twelve years, she worked for residential interior design firms in Charleston, and later, as head of operations for Wicklewood London, she helped design homeware and source products from global artisans. In 2021, Caitlin moved home to Charleston from Europe and launched her eponymous design studio. For inspiration, she turns to travel — whether in person or via books and magazines — as well as English design. Caitlin lives in downtown Charleston with her husband, son, and doodle.
